On completion of this unit you will be able to do the following.

Analyse the advantages and disadvantages of different sources of financial advice.Analyse the impact on the consumer of the changes that have occurred in the financial services industry in recent years.Analyse the key external factors driving financial performance and the resulting effect on the consumer. To include the analysis of data sources in order to assess the impact of these factors when making financial decisions.Evaluate a number of information sources to reach a balanced judgement on the most appropriate financial services product to meet an individual’s needs, wants and aspirations – taking into account; external factors; an individual's circumstances, position on the lifecycle and attitude to risk.

About the exam

The Unit 3 exam is a written paper lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. You will be required to write essay-style answers to a question based on case study material that they see for the first time in the exam.There are two questions on the paper from which students must make a choice of one.There are four parts to each question and students must answer all four parts of their chosen question
